Enjoy a memorable journey on the world famous TranzAlpine train before a guided walk in New Zealand’s stunning high country wilderness, walking amongst the mountains of the Southern Alps.
 

DESCRIPTION

You will be met at your Christchurch accommodation before travelling through the Canterbury Plains on the TranzAlpine train.  Cross massive viaducts over the Waimakariri Gorge before arriving at Arthur’s Pass.  Our walk up the Bealey Valley takes us through several different ecosystems: lush beech forest, alpine wetlands and sub alpine herbfields.  Along the way, your guide will introduce you to the unique flora and fauna this area has to offer.  Amazing views of Mt Rolleston and surrounding glaciers to be had during your rest stop for lunch (a delicious picnic lunch is included). 

After your journey back down Bealey Valley, enjoy an informative and relaxed drive back to Christchurch stopping for afternoon tea and photo opportunities along the way.
