Conditions & General Information
Rates: Determined by date of pick up for entire hire. A rental day consists of 24 hours.
Driver’s age: Min 21 years (25 yrs for Groups L,M & P)
Driver’s Licence: A full valid licence, held for a minimum of one year is the minimum requirement. It must be written in English or accompanied by an International Driver’s Permit.
Rates Include: GST, Unlimited kilometres, damage/theft cover (subject to excess) and First Aid Kit.
Accident Damage Excess: (ADE) Each rental is subject to ADE which may be reduced by purchasing an Accident Excess Reduction package. If declined, a credit card authorisation for the full excess is required at the time of collection. Groups B–K - NZ$2,000+gst
Accident Excess Reduction: (AER) Purchase of an additional cover reduces the excess to NIL for all categories. These daily amounts are non refundable. Groups B – K NZ$20+gst per day
Fuel Bond and Optional Services: NZ$300 deposit is required if no credit card is presented. Depots: Available from 19 locations including airports. Kerikeri surcharge NZ$40+gst paid direct.
Airport/Ferry Fee: NZ$17+gst from Auckland, Wellington, Picton, Christchurch & Queenstown. All other airports $15+gst. Applicable at all Airport locations and ferry terminals, paid direct.
Minimum Hire: 3 consecutive days, same depot.
One Way Rentals: No one way fee applies to rentals with a minimum of 4 days. One-way, 2 island hires: Must be a minimum of 3 days on the first island & no more than 5 hours elapsed between leaving one vehicle and collecting another. (Min. of one day on 2nd island).
Transfers: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4pm. Free deliveries within a 10 km radius of Hertz Metropolitan locations. Outside these hours a fee may apply. All deliveries on request.
Extras: (Per rental, not per island) Ski Racks & Chains NZ$10+gst per day to a max of NZ$70+gst
Note: Groups B (ECMR) & K (SVAR) cannot be fitted with ski racks.
